D’Alton Baker Productions and MarketLife are super-chuffed to announce we are partnering in a bigger and better way in 2022!
We’re combining our efforts to provide the maker community of Perth access to small business advice and educational opportunities.
This year is even more exciting because we’re opening up our scholarship program to the extended family of MarketLife brands! This means not only Perth Makers Market stallholders can apply, but also vendors that participate in the Perth Upmarket family of events, including Art Upmarket and Wedding Upmarket.
The scholarship for this year is filled with opportunities for artists, designers and makers in business.
The successful recipient will receive mentoring by industry experts Renee Baker (DBP) and Erin Madeley (MarketLife), PLUS 3 months of free access to the leading educational online community of Make Good Things Happen.
Entries are open NOW for owners of small creative businesses based in or around Perth in Western Australia.
…and the winner is Kate Thomson! Congratulations Kate!
You need to be the maker or the designer of the products yourself. If you are not the maker of the items you’ll need to provide evidence of an ethical supply chain either domestically or using fair trade.
If you’re keen to enjoy the benefits of mentoring and business support, apply now!
The scholarship recipient will be entitled to:
- One online mentoring session with DBP creative business mentor Renee Baker
- One mentoring session with MarketLife CEO Erin Madeley
- 3 Months of free access to Make Good Things Happen, featuring video training, LIVE Q&A sessions, a private Facebook community and so much more!
What’s even better about this year is that everyone who enters but doesn’t receive a scholarship will have the opportunity to join Make Good Things Happen

“When I’ve felt stuck or unclear my online mentoring sessions have always helped me to move forward, which was so valuable. The advice I’ve received has been really practical and I know I wouldn’t have progressed my business plan without their help!” — Tessa Smith, 2021 Scholarship winner
“This scholarship came to me at precisely the right time for my business as I was aiming to grow and expand my current operations. From the first session with Renee and Angela, I felt warmth and understanding from them with what I wanted to achieve.
I would highly recommend any maker to work with D’Alton Baker Productions to assist in almost any aspect of their business.” — Kareena Preston, 2020 Scholarship winner
“Winning this scholarship has put me in a great headspace to push forward with my business. Both Renee and Angela have so much knowledge and generously share that! I’ve been able to set clearer goals for my business and have since joined MGTH to continue learning from them. Highly recommend their services to makers!” — Merinda Chong, 2020 Scholarship winner
